POKER and ALS

I am so excited, Pat and I are playing in a charity tournment on Sunday to help benefit the ALS Family Foundation. For more information

http://www.capecodtoday.com/calendar-2009-02-22-event-11504.htm

We live on a really tight budget so we couldn't afford to this. My mom generously paid our entry fees so we could play and for a great cause.

I think things like this really help me with my grief.

ALS and my BLOG

I haven't written on here in several months. I have to admit, this past year has been very difficult with the deaths of family. I wanted this blog to be about the love of my life, Rylee. Mostly, I wanted to share with every one our wonderful journey together as a family, raising a beautiful little girl. It's been hard to keep this updated because as much as this year has been amazing, watching Rylee learn, grow, experience, play, sing, dance, etc. my heart is cohabitating with a lot of grief and sadness.

Within that, I have recently found some amazing blogs on here about individuals living with ALS or caring for some one that has ALS. Their stories have touched me so deeply and have made me feel like I am not alone. I have been unable to communicate with my sister Stacie for over ten years. Their stories help me to understand what she might be thinking and feeling after all this time. Their stories are so important... I want to take this opportunity to thank them. Reading their blogs has been such a gift to me. I immediately fell in love with each of them.. and as I was reading.. I sobbed and wished I could hug them.

God Bless you and please know I KNOW how you feel and YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

With deepest respect and affection,

April
